Default West Sussex Newbie

Hi all,

Thought I'd introduce myself to the Southern crew. Just relocated from South Northants to Copthorne, West Sussex. Only get to drive at weekends but am a habitual waver/flasher so be prepared should you happen across a silver, veilside spoilered (original now the property of some thieving ****** in Milton Keynes, grr) V5 Sti Type R.
Looking forward to maybe happen along to the odd mini-meet or 2 and would appreciate advice on local import friendly servicing outlets as well as it being very close to MOT time.

Cheers,
Noel

Hi Noel

Welcome aboard mate - there is quite a hive of activity in the Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire areas which are all fairly local to you. Please also register on www.hampshiresubaru.co.uk

I'm the events organiser for Hampshire and we have plenty going on.

Also organising the www.southernbigone.co.uk - definately one not to miss.

Cheers

Terry

Welcome

As Terry says there is quite a lot going on in and around Sussex.
There is the West Sussex meet (closest to you) at Pease Pottage services on the first Sunday of each month. Next meet will be 5th June. Then there is the East Sussex meet down near Eastbourne (lovely drive out).

Then outside the county you have the Surrey meet on the 2nd Sunday each month and the Essex crew and Hants rabble arn't too far away

There are a few of the locals heading to Japfest, JAE and The Southern Big One so if you fancy a convoy just join in.

Keep your eye open in here for the meets or have a look at www.Sussexscoobies.co.uk

Many thanks and hello to you all. TerryB and Dyney (Iain), I've registered on hantssubaru and SussexScoobs - will pop an intro post on tomoz when there's a little more free time coming my way @ work.
Dyney, Where does the Surrey meet take place - I'm up in Addlestone most weekends.
Also, would really welcome recommendations on servicing/MOT outlets fairly local to Crawley.

Cheers,
Noel

Noel,
The Surrey meet starts off at Newlands corner (just off the A25 near Guildford) and then heads over to a pub near Chobham (I think, been a while since I managed to get over there).

For MOT's and servicing advice your best speaking to poeple at the meets
There is Gatwick Subaru and the only independent specialist I know of locally is Rivett autos in Cranleigh (Mike usually comes to the meets if he's not away racing) but I'm sure there are many more that could do the work to the high standard we expect.

De-cat freindly MOT stations are definatly best discused in person!! If you need one urgently PM or mail me and I can point you in the right direction

Talking This town ain't big enough for the both of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can tell from my location we shouldn't be too far apart,
Rather than discuss anymore on the open forum, if you want to private message me then feel free........................as Dyney and everyone else has said you are surrounded by many scoobs around this area, and the closest meet would be Pease pottage, about 5 mins along the M23,............or I know a longer route along the back roads......;D

Hi Mate

As far as servicing goes, you can't go wrong with Gatwick Subaru. They are top blokes who will do you a very good job. We have meets there too on the odd occasion.

other meets for you to keep an eye on can be found on www.crowbuckscoobies.co.uk/forum we are based in Crowborough / Uckfield and attend meets where ever they happen.

Thumbs up

Hi Noel, and welcome

Just to add that Dave and Mike on the service desk at Gatwick Subaru are top chaps. As others have said, we have a really good relationship with them, and have had a few meets at the dealership. Speak to them and tell them the guys on Scoobynet/Sussex scoobies recomended them .

I've just had my STi serviced there, and they used Manor Royal Motors for the mot. It passed the mot no probs, even if the tester did comment that my blitz exhaust was "clearly on the maximum noise". .

See you at a meet soon maybe.

Welcome to the area Noel

I use LGW Subaru for most things. Not the cheapest, but the service staff are very helpful and a few are into the 'modding' side of the Impreza.

A word of warning for you

Be on the lookout for the low flying '555 Wagon Squadron' in and around Sussex. The heroic pilots of these Wagons are top blokes (and girls) and have recently swelled their ranks with a Stealth Bomber and Tactical Support wing.

Dyney..... We're going to have our own sticker soon how about that?
