Cool

Any of the usual suspects fancy it again this year?

Format for the last couple of years has been cruise up the M1 Saturday morning. Nice run out in the country, pub lunch, then off to the hotel. Freshen up and finish the day off with a meal + drinks. Last year was a hotel with Toby Cavery attached so the rooms were about 50m from the bar

Sunday morning it's off to Towers for the day - it's about 10 miles from the hotel.

Some dates to avoid so far:

5/6th July (TBC) - Wales Camping Trip 5
26/27th July - Jap Auto Extravaganza

16/17th August - Muppet Camping Trip (will probably change )

7th September - Trax

Any interest?

I'd look at Alton Towers website for which weekends are off-peak (ie cheaper) but it's bust

Thumbs up

Ey up matey! I could be up for this, depending on when - although I'd have to be a traitor as I'm scoobless and come in the supe instead

Morning mate!

The odd interloper shouldn't be a problem - I'll be in the Evil Diesel.

Dates are half the reason I posted up something this early - chance to urm, erm and generally not get close to agreeing anything

I'd be interested again

Can't do 26/27 July or 2/3 August but any other weekend is okay at the moment.

Closest date to the last 2 years is the w/e of the 2/3 aug. This time the last two years the park has been a breeze and queues not at all bad

Woohoo re interlopers Hey, I might just be able to keep up with a diesel without losing the back end on corners

You muppet

In terms of costs...

Petrol (of course) - depends where you're coming from
Hotel is circa £50 per room (not per person)
Carvery is £8 or so each
Drinks - not too bad, else you'll be seeing them again on Oblivion
Entry to Towers : Depends on AT's definition - off peak is £20/25 IIRC

Or maybe it's the thought of going further north than Watford?

As for dates, bearing in mind the last few years and the other dates that Chris has posted, the 2/3 is really looking like the best bet.......

(sorry Thunderbird though nothing firm yet )

LMAO You know you enjoyed being the bag lady

I'd hardly class a few burgers on the journey a lot and I seem to remember you there too and I also seem to remember some people having to go to a sit down curry restaurant while others stayed in the pub

At this rate, I'll be able to fit you onto my lounge floor (the spare bedroom is extra ££££ ). Except Maffa that is - I don't want to upset my new neighbours so soon

Chris I think we need to tell them again that its a great blatt on Saturday and some lovely scenery - usually care of CW, then on to a meal and beery evening and off to Alton Towers on the Sun for a whole day in the park. We've never missed a ride we've wanted to do in the last 2 years at this time of year!
