There's a video on the thread below from the Nottingham Big One if you want an idea about what to expect...the high res. versions on page 3. Oh, and look out for the two scoobs on the dash board - they're ours and the scooby stuck to the dash on the lovely P1 is Barry and Lyns
http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...ThreadID=86120
Okay, updated list as follows:
Rachel and Mark
Jamie
Andy + Friend + Kid
Normarker
Alan and Friend
Steve and Lisa
Colin
Barry and Lyn
Stuart + Wendy + kids (2)
Paul + 1
Jen and Chris
We're now getting the tickets sent down here to save the guys standing at the gate for hours, so I'll give them out at Cadnam, or I can post them to anyone who's not meeting us there if you just let me know...

Here is the latest from the main thread:
Andy (count me in, not sure how many yet)
Date is 19th October (Sat)
****LATEST UPDATE****"BIG MEET"CONFIRMATION*****
Well Everyone..its up to you now.
Spoken with Longleat today & this is the situation.
They are sending me 100 vouchers valid for Sat.19th Oct.
Each voucher will entitle"ONE PERSON":
Entry to Grounds+Parking-(FREE)
Discount to Safari Park-(Adult £6.75)
(Child £4.50) or
Discounted Passport Ticket-(Adult £11.25)
(admission to everything) (Child £ 8.25)
So basically, what this means,is the choice is your's my Friends, you can either just park up in the Grounds,go round the Safari Park(+for those of you who think your car will be"dismantled by a Monkey") well its like this, there's a Safari Bus to go round on,or with the Passport Ticket you can go everywhere.
The Vouchers are being sent to me regardless,if i need more i can get some,so an idea of how many people(not cars) actually going would be helpful.
Perhaps each co-ordinator for each area can do this & let me know (i will be contacting those people via E:mail).
As far as distributing the vouchers,i myself, with the help of one/two others will arrive at Longleat early enough to meet everyone as they arrive(Times & Entrance location to be Posted later).
One other thing,as hopefully there could be alot of us,they have said they will try to Park us all together...(Great opportunity for Photo's etc..)so if i know how many cars also i can tell them before the day so they know.
If possible,i may try to arrange a"run"later in the day also, but we'll have to see,i won't commit yet, think of it as a"Bonus/Surprise"
"IT'S UP TO YOU ALL NOW" to make this a"BIG MEET" + a"success".
Thanks Everyone......Duracell

Well, as has been said Longleat's a great place for the safari. If I'm thinking of the same place it also has a big maze, not a poncy one with low bushes (quite easy to get lost in, trust me...), and other animal-things and play areas for kids (lots of stuff to climb on). There's enough there for a whole day out without the meet.
I remember being amazed just how close (while in the car) you can get to the Lions.

lol - sorry Colin, brain freeze yesterday.. Thanks Andy, yeah, it is the 19th....
Breezer - yeah, it is the same place with the maze, I thought it was a really good idea to have a race through it last Monday...it was fun for the first 30 minutes, then I *really* needed the loo! Very difficult maze Chris kept wanted to go through the little holes in the hedge Still, I made up for it with a nice ice cream afterwards

Right - so looks like we just give numbers in and get our vouchers on the day that will entitle us to either free entry or safari tickets/passport tickets which we pay for at the gate
Also - Duracell's trying to organise a big picture outside the statly home with Tazmans proffesional camera-type equipment, so make sure your cars all shiney clean Think scooby may be getting an early Christmas pressie of some nice wax

Opps. Killed my first post - reposted below!

Right - Thanks to Mr Duracell it looks like we'll be having an amazing day out at Longleat http://www.longleat.co.uk/mainpage.htm which has the Jenny award for most excellent safari park in the UK (I love the Wolves )...so there yer go - a meet for all the family
Loads of Scoobs have shown interest, with six large regional groups currently organising to attend
Duracell is currently organising a time we can all meet at Longleat, so at the moment we just need confirmation that you would like to attend and what you would like to do on the day.
Each voucher will entitle"ONE PERSON":
a) Entry to Grounds+Parking-(FREE)
b) Discount to Safari Park-(Adult £6.75),(Child £4.50) or
c) Discounted Passport Ticket-(Adult £11.25), (admission to everything) (Child £ 8.25)
We just give number to Duracell and you pay for the extra activites you may like to do on the day . I acutally went to Longleat on Monday and if you love animals the Safari park is well worth doing. You can avoid the monkey section or just take a bus around the whole thing for £3 extra pounds. However, I think it will be worth going just for the scooby's the Nottingham Big One was an amazing sight and I think this will be just as good
Once we have a time we can organise the journey up - I'll propose meeting at the Cadnam services Mc Donalds again, Junction 2 of the 27, any better ideas post below
So far:
Rachel and Mark
Jamie
Andy
Normarker
Alan and Friend
Steve and Lisa going to see the monkeys
Jen and Chris going around the Safari
Thanks
Jen

Yeah - come on you lot
We're meeting at Longleat between 9 and 10am according to Duracells post, so I'll propose meeting at 8.20 for an 8.30 leaving time? Any further suggestions/discussions post below!

Asuming we survive the Cannonball & Assuming this is a "with kids" event can you please put me down for 2 Adults & 2 kids.
Also how much extra to leave the kids in with the Monkeys all day, no one will notice
Stuart & Wendy

Hi Guys,
Just a thought for the Big Southern meet.
As you may have seen Banshi and others have organised a Banger race meet up in Manchester on the 7th Oct in memory of Nick Wild, money going to Macmillan Cancer Relief.
As it's a bit far for most from the south I thought maybe we could have a collection at Longleat on the 19th and show our support that way. How about each car donating the cost of general admission to the grounds which is normally £3 (free now with Duracell's voucher), or whatever you can afford.
Cheers, Grahame, Duracell's little helper
