So good news although its a little late! i passed the MOT!
Zero advisories. pretty please w that but the hole car is new so its all cool. The MOT guy had his jaw on the floor!
Testing out the test wiring of the Converter box from the Porsche abs ring Hall to the Subaru VR gb sensor.
i had loads of throttle cable friction so, changed the cables, now using a nylon coated cable and a PTFE bike liner. Then a clevis joint from ebay, and a boss i tuned up.
The result is a T cable that is really smooth, cant believe the difference its made! well worth the effort! and cash.
Then had an issue that the car suspension settled and the body dropped onto the tires on bumps. So had to higher the front. pretty gutted as the wheels are not narrow to the center of the arches, will sort this when i cut the front off. So Tigged the steering rods back together less 1cm eather side as when i raised the suspension i needed to narrow the steering arms...
Moddified the adjusters on the beam...
All the wiring....and inch high of A4 paper.
Made a new exh baffle. the current one is pretty loud so made a new one.
MOT day
cant forget the flower!
thought this was a cool pic.
So now looking at the 4wd front end, but need money to get it all together.
Will space frame the front so its a simple weld in conversion of subframe....

Been away for a bit. Im not good at updating.
So i chopped the front off the beetle and changed the geo, was not happy with the **** torsion bar front suspension, was just really understeery and vague. heres a bit of an overview, Kinda used only the interesting pics rather than me cutting stuff out.
So i decided to make my own front end using a LHD mk1 golf steering rack, boxster subframe narrowed, 996 c4 hubs, 911 lower arms, volvo discs, porsche non s calipers, gt3 struts, and everything else is hand made (sheet metal/tubes/metal work...)
Subframe and mounting.
I used 996 track rods and golf tie rods. machined the thread all the way down the shaft so i had a hybrid. Porsche to knuckle then golf rack/tie bar to the 996 end. Massive pain in the **** as the tie rod is case hardened.
Made up these! for the shock towers...
Had to replace my bulkhead as it was a bit ****
Sheet metal done
Made my fuel tank
And the strut brace

Crazy build. Looking forward to seeing how you go with your AWD setup.
Im working on something similar at the moment. Also a 1966 vw with a reversed 2015 WRX AWD driveline, and 997 rear suspension. The chassis is an all alloy modular design. I'm keeping my highly worked 2443 turbo air cooled engine and hope to keep the weight under 700kg.
