The roads are rammed down here at the tip of the country ; visitors who stop at the narrowest points, walkers, cyclists, sheer volume. It's just not sensible to drive fast. But yesterday evening I discovered a solution ; go out whilst Poldark is on!
Empty, driving with the setting sun on the road from St Ives to Lands End, cliffs, moorland tors, ruined mines. The Spec C in its element, I was reminded what a fantastic car it is on winding roads. Outrageous.
Not sure where I ended up at the end as they haven't published Sunday online yet, but I do recall a 47 something.
But I have to say a big thanks to Brian Coward at Cams Performance near Blackburn for pulling out all the stops to get the car ready considering the engine was out of the car 2 days prior - absolute legend.
Car was around 400-450 I think, 1.5 bar, no LC, no ALS, extreme poor weather on 265 wide tyres! Making excuses I know, but we were all in the same boat!
The intake hose was the Achilles heel on the saloon, I don't know if this was upgraded on the hatch. I'm running a 76mm inlet I think. Sorry no pictures, but it was a bloody squeeze.
reason i ask is i still see ones like Robs running the standard one
I took a punt on one on eBay that was cheap 2nd hand. Its actually about 5ply but not wired and everyone says cheap non wired ones collapse well I thought it to stick a nice coupler in the middle of it so that it can't collapse

still to fit it though....
i bought the viperperformance one yesterday but have to sent it back as my new turbo is 60mm and hose was 55mm

I’ve got one at home to fit but it was such a tight squeeze! So I’m waiting for a day to remove the inlet manifold to get it in that way.
yes mate ,, needed it for a better comparison to the evolution FQ400 that was there aswell,, its in the background behind mine ,, was a really good laugh lol ,, ended up burning my clutch up trying to work out how to do donuts in these bloody cars ,, to much technology getting in my way and couldn't work out how to switch it off properly lol

First impressions - its running very smoothly now, i didn't have that much of a stumble to begin with but could still feel a little on partial throttle - now i dont have that.
