Default Conservatory Roof replacement

Any one had there existing conservatory roof replaced with solid roof,
Something like the guardian warm roof or the super lite roof ,
Have 2 companies coming this week for quotes ?
Just wondered on any specific thoughts or problems people may have incurred

I have fitted guardian and supalite roofs , both nice systems never had any problems once installed , think about a velux window if light is going to be a problem .they do plastic and tin roof tiles the plastic ones look so much nicer , make sure you’re happy with your existing frames as it’s a expensive roof to drop on to them

Yea , there are many options , frames are fine & sturdy / like the guardian design a little better , more concerned about genuine company quotes, none of this 20% off & oh we will do this & that .
No doubt I’ll get a shock at the price

Sort of...

Wood frame, glass roof. Rotten timber, failed glazing units, draughty and leaked like a sieve:






Retained original foundations and foot print which made planning permission straight forward. Just had extra foundations put in on the corners tied in with steel reinforcement:




Lessons learnt: Never trust a plumber. Don't use LED lamps (use retrofit bulbs instead). And if you have s Dorma bungalow, sell it or knock it down entirely and build a proper house instead
