alarm only works at close range

alarm will only arm/disarm when standing at the drivers door, it used to work from a good distance but has gradually got weaker, i have changed the key battery and no difference and spare key unused doesnt seem to operate at all,
any advice welcome

it will be the reciever board mate, what alrm/how old is it..............only answer is new alarm system

Mine is the same as it is the stock alarm on a 02 plate,,, sometimes it works at the back of the car and sometimes not, has a mind of its own

unfortunatly subaru chose a poor alarm to fit to there cars, if they had streached a bit more for directed equipment then we probly wouldn't need this section lol
