Default gt auto alarm gt 136/142

Had a problem the other night when my wife got back to the car following filling up with V-Power. She called me saying she was unable to unset the alarm/unlock the car using the remote. She walked home (lucky the shell garage is local) and I walked out with the spare keys to pick it up.

The backup alarm fob worked correctly but the main fob no longer works. I have changed the battery but still no joy. The led on the fob flashes but I cant confirm if it actually broadcasts its signal (suspect its 433MHz but dont have access to a suitable scope at the mo)

Does anyone know if there is a way to re-synchronise the keyfob with the car? The alarm is a gt auto alarm gt 136/142 according to the installation cert. but I cant find any information/instructions for it on the www.

Dont really want to rely on the single working remote and the emergency tag but cant afford to replace the alarm either.

Thanks in advance

Rob

If you have a look at your alarm manual it should tell you in there what you have to do to re-sync the remotes.

Do you direct it at the car near to where it's installed, press the button and hold down for 30 seconds? This is what I had to do on mine when the battery when flat years ago.

Might work?

Default GT alarm 136 not working

STi5_TypeR_VLtd - Rob.

I have just had the same problem happen to my car! Unfortunately I only have one key fob as I purchased the car second hand.

I can appreciate that this happened a couple of years ago, but could you tell me how you rectified the problem.

Did you manage to get a new fob? or even get a new alarm fitted. Did you find anyone local who specialises in GT auto alarms.

Thanks in advance
