I have a Cobra Alarm in my Scooby, should my standard Subaru alarm still work?

I can sometimes lock the car with the Subaru alarm (using the key) aswell as the Cobra alarm thob?

Any idea's?

No idea but i can do the same on mine.The key fob will lock/unlock the car as well as my cobra keyfob although i can only see one siren under the bonnet

If i lock with the Subaru Key...and open the car using the key, and not disarm the alarm does not go off...

but if i alarm using the Cobra thob, and then use the key to open the car the alarm goes off...

Im guessing that the factory alarm/imobilisor is still fitted but the siren was replaced with a cobra one for the cobra system so in theaory all that would work is the doors locking/unlocking everything else would have been swapped onto the cobra system

Depending on year and car Subaru alarm was remote not via key so locking car with key will not activate anything
with the remote yes it will

Funny...i bought new battries for the Corbra remote, and now the open \ lock on the subaru key no longer works..i can only lock and unlock using the Cobra remote...

Also i have to be close to the car...is this normal?
