Default Clifford alarm set off by garage door

My clifford concept 650 goes off when I open my garage door. It will peep at me then 2 secs after the alarm will do off.

Is it the door interfering with the alarm or something else?

sounds like the proximity sensor is causing the alarm to sound, when the beep first chirps at you and then you open the door, the alarm is warnign you that its picked u up and then when u obviously move infront of the car to open the door it goes off?

I get the first beep when I have opened the door a 1/4 of the way then I open the door and then the alarm goes off.

It does not always set the alarm off, usually beeps and thats it.

Also, when I close the door, the alarm will beep and flash the indicators.

Would putting some foam on the inside of the door help?

the beeps and flashes when your closing the door is the alarm telling you that its detecting a lot of movement around the car. It's also a good indication that your proximity sensor is set too high.

Unfortunately its true...used to drive me mad on my last car.

I know you can disable it via the key fob but think you need an installer to adjust the sensitivity on the "brain"

Could be wrong though

its my personal preference not to install cliffords for their inherent problems,
i have however bought the neccisary bits required to programme the alarms via a lap top.
the alarms are ok, but generally need more time to install due to being sooo bloomin gadget filled, fit a normal cat 1 in 3 hours, take 5 or maybe 6 to do a clifford PROPERLY.

if it goes off in heavy rain then it's set too high, it's not normal.

the proximity sensor should create 2 bubbles, 1 inside the car and 1 outside. the outside should only chirp to tell people to keep clear of the car. If the smaller bubble is broken the alarm will go off. Sounds like yours is set too high, and rain should definitely not set it off.

even heavy rain

I was just thinking, maybe my battery is a bit low, thus the alarm is thinking that the car is being broken into? just an idea.

It does detect voltage drop in the system but it should have a battery backup.

nope, the battery backup is for the siren only. it doesnt power the alarm. If the alarm sees the voltage dropping then it simply shuts down.

so your really advanced alarm can be shut off by disconnecting the battery and then towing your car away?

nope, if you disconnect the battery the siren will go off until it's own battery runs flat. This can be anywhere between 30min to 1 hour.
