Another Sigma M30 problem

Another Sigma M30 problem
I have a Sigma M30 fitted to my Renault. The alarm will set every time using the Renault key, but no longer re-sets. I have to use the pin-code every time. Is this the symptom of 'radio lock-out'? Also it seems to be stuck in 'Engineer mode'. I.E. open door - alarm starts. Shut door - alarm stops. Any suggestions short of scrapping alarm completely?

OE Alarm Sam would have been able to give you advice on this matter, but he has been banned by the moderators at ScoobyNet.
Being the designer of the standard fit Subaru alarm system and working for the manufacturer, his posts in response to forum users alarm queries were deemed to be of a commercial nature, gaining brand exposure for his product and so he has been asked to cease posting alarm advice on the ScoobyNet forum, unless he became an authorised advertiser.
OE Alarm Sam has now moved to the Subaru Imprezza Driver’s Club forum where you should be able to get free technical assistance regarding the standard fit alarm system in the Strictly Technical section.

Wrong......... Thats what VTD would have you believe but it's simply not true. Call thatcham and ask them. I did and I was informed that as long as the alarm works as intended (as it was tested) then you can add on whatever you want. And that includes remote start. Clifford have just gained approval for a Cat 1 system with remote start.

I do feel Toad has not sent thers thro yet
Ian[/QUOTE]
Toad won't do a remote start system as liteon don't make any.
Clifford have put one through because they now feel that there is a demand for it. Even though the whole package has been approved there has never been ANY issue with installing it as an accessory.

The main issue is overiding Factory immobilisor and you are correct Liteom dont make one but you can get others
The way Clifford fitters have got past this is not to show remote start fitted
But if you fit remote start to an alarm not tested and aproved through Thatcham then yes you will loose Thatcham status as it will have been modified from evaluation and not as evaluated at that time
