Default Blackjax

Hi, I have gt my alarm fitted along with blackjax.

I have read and re read the info on the clifford website and in the manual you get with the alarm. But what I want to know is, how does the backjax thing work, how does it differentiate between me and a car theif?

PM me the answer if you wish

Off the clifford site,You use the keypad with your code

enter the PIN code. That’s it – it’s sabotage-proof. The only way to turn off BlackJax is with a secret user-selectable PIN code. If the carjacker tries guessing codes at random, BlackJax actively ignores his code entries for the next few minutes. Even if he were to find and remove the BlackJax control unit, he would still be unable to restart the engine. That’s Clifford technology you can count on.

He showed me the valetcode buttons and how to disarm the alarm if I had to enter with the key. He also showed me the flashes/churps that the LED would make if either a door was open or the bonnet or boot was open. Thats about it and sent me on my way.

because once the door is opened and the car is driven away you get 60 seconds to re-enter the code. The thief doesnt know the code which is why the car then cuts out and stops.

Mine activates the moment the brake pedal has been pressed. Code within 30 seconds or the car cuts out. Like anything you get three attempts to input the code.

Does that mean that every time you brake you have to enter the code?

take it back to the dealer. It may need reprogramming.

Question Black Jax not noticing door opening?

Hi, I have the same problem with my intelliguard 750 with blackjax.
The system has never worked since being installed.

The clifford authorised dealer who installed it said it needs reprogramming, something to do with the revs being at the wrong setting. However everytime I go to get it done they make excuses like their premises being broken into and their laptop being stolen, then they told me their lead to connect to their laptop had broken!

Yeh right more like they don't want to strip the dash down to access the control unit to reprogram it!

I don't know if another dealer will sort it for me without charging me?

Is it likely to be a faulty blackjax unit or does it just need programming correctly?

Also my siren has stopped working completely as of yesterday, no plips or siren when activated. I've been told this isn't covered on the warranty, is this true? It is older than 12 months now too.

also after the ignition is switched off the blue clifford light flashes nine times. I take it this is telling me there is a fault?

I phoned up the company that installed my alarm and said that my proximity sensor goes of (chrups) in heavy down poors of rain and also about the blackjax not working.

The guy replied and said that when you get heaving rain (like today) I would have to disarm the sensor to stop it churping. O.K. fair enough.

The Blackjax is not activated when the alarm is installed. I have to arm it myself. - I supose this is a good idea as the me the customer would want to get used to the alarm before the bacljax is activated.

Also I asked him about the blackjax operation and arked a little bit more about it. He duly answered my quesntion. So I am alittle bit more wiser on the matter.

He then said read the clifford manual a few times and write down the procedure of activating the blackjax. Basicially 'have a play'. As in the manual, they refer you to a few pages for one alarming/accessory procedure.

This I am a little bit scaredv of, but I need to do as he said if I don't I will be warry of using the alarm and become more terrified of using it. Not good.

So if anyone has any tips then please don't hesitate to PM me.

Thanks

Darren

Get on to head office....

I had major problems with mine....mainly due to the "qualified installers" not having a ******* clue....
So much so that on a journey home....the whole car switched off at 100+++......thats enough to **** anyone up.....

so after two further attemps, it's finally working and touch wood....hasn't fcuked up YET...

And they're not as safe as they first seem....

that means your Blackjax isnt activated.

To activated it...

1. turn key to on so the dash lights come on (dont start car)
2. enter Blackjax code
3. press lock/unlock on the key pad
4. turn key to off

Blackjax is now enabled.

Hi Yes you're right the flashing lights are due to me trying to switch the plips back on but I have turned the black jax off by mistake.

The black jax is now back on and it still doesn't recognise the door being opened. This has always been the case and as I mentioned earlier, the clifford installer said it needs programming via a laptop something to do with the revs, is this likely to solve the probem?

I am going to buy the cable and software and adjust it myself as the installer is full of excuses all the time.

I'm just unsure what setting I need to adjust?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Also looking at a replacement siren as this seems to be faulty.
Is it possible to just cut into the wiring at the siren end and resolder the existing wires to the new siren to save re routing the new wires?

Cheers in advance
