Well worth having.

Just don't keep the key on the same 'ring as the car key...

I had a Barrier Deadlock (the previous version) on my last car and... well, the car was never stolen. I guess that's a recommendation! It was certainly a well made and easy device to use, and much less obtrusive than a Disklok or other mechanical security device.

My only hesitation in recommending it is the observation that few Imprezas are stolen by defeating the cat. 1 electronic immobiliser anyway - theft using the keys seems increasingly common. For that reason I wonder whether it's actually worth having more mechanical security on the car, or whether you'd be better off with an anti-hijack device like Blackjax instead.

Got one on my 03sti, it's a well made piece of kit and highly recommended.
Keep the key on a separate bunch to the ignition key to confuse any burglars.
