I want a Cliiford BlackJax, installed by someone who really knows what they're doing and is meticulous.

Can anyone recommend such a fitter in one of these towns as my trusty local ICE dealer doesn't do Clifford. Northampton, Leicester, Kettering, Cambridge, Peterborough, Stamford.

Many thanks,

Richard.

Erm, I had an alarm fitted in Coventry and they didn't do a bad job at all, but I'd only recommend Maximum Impact in Leeds.

This place redefines meticulous - he's done 5 or 6 cars for me, and God only knows how many for the ImportingImprezas list.

May be a bit further than you ideally wanted, but give them a bell on 0113 244 1448.

Failing that, Car Electronics in Leicester have a good reputation having won tons of stuff for their ICE installs. I've bought speakers from them, but never had them work on my car.

Chiark, thanks for that mate. Yes, I've phoned Maximum Impact (following one of your earlier posts) and was mightily impressed with Max himself. We had a long chat. It was this conversation that prompted me to look for a really top fitter nearer home. There are too many cowboys about.

If I don't get a five star recommendation for anyone nearer, I guess I'll be having a day out in Leeds

Make a day of it if you do - pick the right day and you could combine it with the Harewood House Hill climb... see the Northern section for details of that.

If you really don't trust anyone else then the installation instructions and wiring diagrams are downloadable from Clifford.com !!

Boost, thanks, but you must be joking! I hire an electrician to change a light bulb Years ago I wired a head unit to my wife's car. It worked fine when I fitted it but she said it wouldn't play. Turns out that the live wire I'd found was linked to the interior light switch so it only worked with the doors open!!!

Cool, good to hear he's still doing a good job.

As for the "can i buy one and fit it", the official Clifford answer is "No".

Give clifford a bell as that should be a quick fix under warranty.

Download the user/install manual from Clifford website, there is a section in there about adjusting the prox with the master remote that isn't in the UK manual.

I have fine tuned both my C600 prox's with that manual.

Edit - I can e-mail to you if you have trouble finding it.
