Anyone got a Clifford Concept 500 ?
#1
Sorry for yet another similar post on alrarms.
I have been Emailing Craigamungos about alarm systems. The Concept 500 seems pretty good and I was wondering if anyone has got one and can tell me what it is like, good or bad.
Cheers, Nathan

Pasted my reply from "How do you tell what Clifford is fitted" thread of about 10 days ago:
I've got a Scoob with a Concept 500, which is identical to the 600 (ie has BlackJax & Turbo Timer), the only difference is that it does not have the third immobilisation point(remote wireless fuel cut-off). This third wireless immobilisation is why a modified 600 was brought out for the Scoobies.
PS - For CAT 1 certification - BlackJax, Turbo Timing & Remote Engine Starting (if you have it) should be disabled (of course your fitter can always enable them once your certificate has been issued)
Additionally, if you have a dataport added you can connect a PC to the Alarm via the CliffNet Wizard & interigate/re-configure it.
Extra Bit added today :
Can't remember if Concept 600 supports 4 windows (Concept 500 only shuts front)?
For Total Closure I had to have an additional module fitted to shut my rear ones!
I also have the Remote Engine Start and dataport fitted, which is an absolute God-send, as Valet Mode only works for 1 ignition on/off (this wasn't a problem on the old Concept 50x's - when valet was on it stayed on!). Using the dataport allows Blackjax & Total Closure to be easily disabled before taking the car to the garage etc.
PS - I'm as happy as a Concept 600 owner, except saving the extra £100 or so allowed me to spend more on the add-ons I wanted, so maybe I'm happier!

I've got the 500 on my scoob, no problems so far (and it's an import) only thing was the bonnet switch that was fitted kept going off but craigamungos swapped that out for me last week when he came to fit my pager. I would have the pc port fitted for the reasons Chris stated in his post. I like the blackjax anti-hijack system cos even if theives nick my keys while I'm at work/sleeping, they wont get very far but it is a pain when it's servicing time
Maybe we could try and get a group buy on the pc port? Anyone know any contacts?

Thanks for the replys.
Unfortunately I am a complete techno dullard
can someone please Email me off line to tell me how blackjax and anti-hijack work and why they are a pain when it comes to servicing the car? I think I need a picture
Nathan..
