Exclamation

Just a bit of advice. If you have a dog which sits in the passenger footwell, then put them (if possible) on the back seat.

Mum and dad went on drive with the dog in footwell and he managed to push the lock in as my dad changed gear. Unable to change gear again he had to put on hazards (as coming up to a junction, on busyish road) and pull over.

Cheers,
Tom

That must be one clever dog! You have to push the barrel right into its recessed hole for it to lock and stay in. Not only that but it's very stiffly sprung too.

Rob,

Clever he ain't.

That's the thing, I'm pretty sure dad say the bolt was not fully in - more like half.

If you fiddle around with the gears, whilst parked up - engine off , and push the bolt in a little at a time, it can cause problems with changing gear.

With regard to bolt being stiffly sprung, you're right, but our dog is a fat bas***d.

Cheers,
Tom

Question

Tom,

are you saying that the BDL "bolt" is on the _passenger_ side - i always presumed that it was on the drivers side?
