Whenever people post questions on trackers, it seems a vigorous debate breaks out on GPS technology vs Tracker technology with the police monitors. I saw recently Tracker are doing a service called Horizon which combines GPS and their original tracking system - got to be a good thing.
Not too sure how the Navtrack thing works but I think basically if you are lost they can tell you where you and get you pointing in the right direction through the GPS. Presumably you could buy a hand held GPS device and a map for a lot less money so I think, yes, it is just another tracker with a gimmick.

harj - have a look at this thread from a week or so ago. Summary seems to be that NavTrak is the best value of the GPS/GSM based systems, as you only pay for the installation plus monthly fee (i.e not the box itself):

Don't all P1's come with Nav-trak as standard (I havn't got a P1, just a turbo, so don't know for sure), all the magazine ads say that they do?
Anyone got a P1 and care to comment?
Or anyone seen the ads that quote it?
If they do fit it as standard is that not a good recommendation?
