Ok guys after reading the discussions on Si's alarm scenario id thought id ask a few questions.

Im thinking of buying a fresh import and have been told by insurers it will need a CAT 1 and tracker fitted.

Any estimates on what these will cost and some sudgestions on the best ones tog et, quite fancy one with the anti hijack facility.

all depends on the spec you want - you can get a decent stand-alone immobiliser for around 100 quid - decent alarms from 300-500+.

Same with the tracker dependant on wheather you want 'rectrive' or better models the cost goes up

Was going to go for one that works with the centrallocking facility and has the best immoboliser, with possible hijack facility.

Tracker retrieve ive heard is the cheaper version but have had no quotes yet.

Tracker Monitor (middle of choice of 3) is 558. Have a look at the website: www.tracker.co.uk for other prices.

They will notify you via phone if vehicle is moved without keys. Also only tracker company that has equipment linked to all 52 police forces. And they also cover France now apparently.
