Navtrak - Response Times - 15 mins no call!
#1
Rang to test the system worked ok. All fine - but when i tested the callback i waited 15 mins and got no call.
Rang them - they had got my "response" but they - and i quote that tehey
"add you to a que for a while to see if you've forgot"...
So they wait 15mins + just incase its a false alarm.
In Feb i got a letter saying i'd get charged if i made more than 20 false alarms - ive never made one!
Now they wait (to reduce their phone bill no doubt) quarter of an hour b4 trying a call.... by then my car could be in a lock-up somewhere if it was stolen!!!!
Am i being picky - or shouldn't my £15 a month mean i get a call as soon as they physically can?

Yup usually fairly quick response here too if I forget! Can't say I've ever had any probs or been dissatisfied with them, they've rectified any probs I've had with them!

Anyone had any trouble with draining your battery, as post re- RAC tracker. Is there a battery that needs replaced after say 3-5 years.Think i might give it a 'test'just in case.
What about using a Ferry? has anyone had a call or not? when they should have.

DOH!
Just had the technician round. All he did was beep the thing... the engineer pressed a button at base and reset it - and whey hey it works again...
AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME £100 for doing it.
Should be fun trying to get out of that one.

Jza, I've got the same problem.... The unit is 2 years old and when I tested it I got no response. I don't fancy paying £100 just for that!! What was the problem? I wonder if taking it to a local athorised fitter would the answer...

The problem was the lady at the end of the line didnt ask me to do enough before calling out a techy... who came round and fixed it.
They basically need to "re-commission" the unit their end. Once they did that it worked.
They agreed to refund the £100....

PS.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE
If the units an old model (3000) and its broke - they will replace the unit with a new ADR model for £100 + cost of ADR unit.... so might be worth the call out as its "significantly" less than the retail cost

It is a 3000 unit and only just gone 2 years old. If it's broke they have offered a new unit for cost plus £100 call out... that's about £380 total for the new unit. I don't think so!! what happens in 2 years when that fu(ks up?!?!
decided they can stick their tracker... I'll renew the insurance early with someone who doesn't require a tracker. If the car is stolen then I don't want it back!
Bitter? just a bit!
thanks for the reply

Hmmm, my original unit went t*ts up about a day after the original 1 year warranty ran out as well....I did upgrade to the ADR and also paid 'up front' for the next year though we did haggle a good deal out...Insurance also came down about another 50 squid by having the ADR over the normal proactive system.
Must admit though, I've always been quite pleased with the service - on the odd occasion when I've forgotten the ADR card I've been continually called and the 2nd and 3rd numbers were called as well whilst they placed the car on a track though interestingly mine was hi-lighted as a possible hijack as the system 'read' the card from where I'd left it in my trouser pocket in the bedroom of my house (car was parked outside) and only 'lost' the signal after about 100 yards - powerful signals obviously!

I must get round to upgrading mine to the ADR version. They said it would cost me £200 to do.
Also this thread has reminded me that I haven't tested mine for a while...

AA guy did the battery, and basically It took two months or so until the car was in for some alarm stuff, and they forgot the tracker and I didnt get a call..
I phoned up and they ran some tests (deliberately trying to set it off) and nowt.
Like you, my unit was dead (and had been dead since the battery change! )
I upgraded and havent regretted it once ..
Altho my hardware was replaced under warranty, so I was only due the ton for the upgrade, new unit.
TAKE THE WARRANTY PEOPLE!
