Alarm upgrade advice please.

My m8 is being forced to fit a cat1 Alarm to his Scoob as his cat2 just ain't enough for insurace in todays climate 
I understand he can upgrade his present cat2 with an alarm and it would be classed as a cat2.1 - which i believe is the same difference as a cat1!
He has found a price, from Toad i believe which is £180 for this upgrade. My question is - Is that the best price he's gonna get and is there any reason to go for sommat else?

There are a few Cat 2-1 upgrades available.Scorpion,Cobra,Laserline Sigma etc.etc.
Although I am not familiar with the Toad product most 2-1 upgrades are circa £200 fitted.
Just make sure whoever is fitting the system is reputable,and with a bit of luck VSIB approved.
VSIB is a safegaurd for the customer not the installer.
Cheapest is not always best!!
