I've had the above alarm fitted by CarAlarmsUK.

I returned to my car just as the guy was finishing the install.
He has drilled the bulkhead, without asking if it was ok.
He has sited the alarm, fixed by bracket to the bulkhead;
its hanging over the turbo, next to the intercooler.

Me : do you realise thats about the hottest place in the engine bay

him : yea.

Me : hmm, you reckon that siren will be ok then.

him : oh yea.

Didnt drive it till i left work. Start it up, whats this vibration.

The guy had sited the fixing for the bracket in between the servo pipe and the brake line.
wieght of the siren on the bracket bouncing up and down on my brake pipe.
Also siren chaffing against the intercooler and a heat shield.
Feckin w@nkers.
My conversation with caralamuk tomorrow is going to be good.
So if anyone has had an install by these people i suggest you check it out.

Nice pic !!!
That siren bracket is supposed to locate either side of the siren !!!!! One dodgy fitter. Sorry to say, if he has taken short cuts on stuff that is as basic and visable as this I hate to think what has been done to the wiring !! Who and where are CarAlarms UK based ??

It really amazes me that Clifford are still allowing cowboys to install their systems.

They used to have the reputation as being the best alarms that money can buy, unfortunately this is rapidly disappearing due to loads of shoddy installs

Hi, yes have spoken to them. They did sort of apologise, and are sending a guy out today to sort it out.
I did show my garage the problem; they could not believe how this was installed, and indicated how dangerous it it.
Besides the brake pipe issue, the possibility of fire to the siren if the car was driven hard for a period of time.

will wait and see what happens....
