I would like it to make a discreet *peep* when activated or deactivated.

Yes, it is easy to do!
It involves the little keypad thingy. How to do it escapes me at the mo though

Here you go
......make sure the alarm is off,turn on ign and quick press on remote button,then press 7 on keypad give a good press once,immediately turn off ignition. DONE
to disable bleeps same way but press 6

Repeat above but use the * button instead of the 7 and it will toggle between loud and soft bleeps.
