When activating and de-activating my alarm on my car (MY99) only the indicators on the right side of the car flash
My indicators and hazards work as normal, but they refuse to work with the alarm.
Anyone have a fix for this?

I decided a good place to start would be around the steering column, cos i figure that to make all three left side indicators flash the alarm has to be wired in somewhere around the indicator stalk.
I used the tried and tested method of "push and pull" all wiring in this area.
Result = Failure. It's doing my crust in now, so i would appriciate any ideas

Doesn't need to be around the stalk.... there are indicator wires for both left and right at the hazard switch and these are easier to get to than the stalk ones so there's a good chance they're wired in there.
Yes both left and right wires are separate there as well, even though the hazard switch can only flash both at the same time.

Very easy to check the above !
Pull out your drinks holder.
Push a small screwdriver down the right hand side of the hazard switch.
Waggle both the hazard and heated rear screen switches over to the left.
Bit more waggling and they will both pop out.
Try not to waggle to hard as you may break the holding lugs - take your time, they will come out !

If all else fails and you're reasonably confident then you could run a new wire from the alarm's output to the correct wire at the hazard switch. This way you'll know whether it's the wiring that's the problem and not a fuse, and if it works just leave it in place.
That assumes you know where the alarm unit is located and the correct wire for the indicators (even if it's a Cat1 there's a fair chance the indicator wire will be colour coded, only certain wires tend to be black).

In fact before you go that far if you manage to locate the correct wire from the alarm probe it with the red probe of a voltmeter and touch the black probe to a ground point (more or less any screw/bolt that goes into the car's metal). Then press the keyfob to make the alarm flash and check you get a ~12V pulse.
If that fails there's a problem with the alarm so no point running a new wire.

When you leave the indicator in the position which doesnt flash and then arm/disarm the system does it then work. If the answer is yes someones wired one of the alarms indicator outputs to the central rest position. I had this on my Honda a few years ago. If this is the case your need to rewire that wire to the correct wire. Call Dr Clifford on 0121 359 1617. The sad git knows all the wires off the top of his head.
