Is this just the normal version of trackstar? or the version that you have to disarm it everytime you get in the car?

Dont really know that much about it. Dealer called to let me know the details are in the post ahead of my car arriving tomorrow.

You don't have to do anything. The dealer should activate it as soon as they have the vehicle in their possession.

Question

You should get a certificate of RAC once your system is active.

I ended up sending the paperwork to Trackstar myself as the dealer thought it was my responsibility, which I pointed out it wasn't, but just wanted to get the thing sorted

Got the cert though

if the dealer is sending you the paperwork, then the car isn't covered.

If you haven't had the cert then the car isn't covered

= Insurance invlaid (if your company requires tracker)

Trackstar issue the cert direct to your home

same happened to me - dealer gave me paperwork to send off. got my certificate in about 3 days. I phoned up RAC on day i got the car worried about insurance coverage and they said they would still be able to track it with a call from myself if it got stolen before the system was automatically enabled.

i'll never know if that was true, but that's what they said.

Just to confirm, the dealer actuallly confirmed with RAC that it is the owners responsibility to fax send off the paper work.
