Just had my Discovery stolen from locked garage.
Read recently of Stolen Scooby "spluttering to a halt when thief tried to drive away"
Was this because the owner had let it run dry!! os is there a system I shoult fit in addition to the usual factory set up.
Any advice on garage security would be welcome.

Mr B, my condolences.

Would rather not divulge information to a newbie for obvious reasons, but go speak to your local clifford dealer as they can tell you what's what.

Oh, and for garage security I use Autolok stoppas (and other things). Damned effective and at 35 quid for a key-matched pair they're good VFM too.

This Subaru was fitted with a hijack module. These basically work of the doors and everytime the door is opened and closed you either enter a code or press a hidden button. If this procedure is not followed then the vehicle shuts down and a siren starts wailing and the thief starts running. Motorguard fitted one to my legacy gtb for £150. mail me back for their number.

As Chiark has mentioned, an anti hijacking device such as the Clifford BlackJax system is an absolute must these days on any desireable car, even not so desireable ones! There are other devices around, but Clifford have had the BlackJax system around in one form or another for a decade or more, so it is the most proven of all of them.
