After two years of hassle I'm still getting false alarms when it rain caused by my bonnet switch. It's been moved to the front of the engine bay above the grill coz it was always going off when it was at the side. It just seems that even though I keep greasing it, the water keeps getting to it and shorts it out. Does anyone know of a sealed, waterproof one or a sure fire way of stopping it, otherwise I'll have to remove it.

P.s system is a Clifford Concept 500

Wink

Shove some grease on the switch, this causes most of the problems due to the engine heat melting it off so reapply sparingly
If not there is another type of switch i think you can have fitted, speak to Max the clifford dealer, he should be able to inform you

I used to get the alarm going off every time I washed the car.

My local installer fitted a relay between the switch and the alarm, this stops the alarm going off for a fraction of a second (or so) so a water drop can't set it off.

Haven't had any false alarms since.

Question

Cheers Lads, anyone got Max's number to hand? I`ve tried the grease method but it's still a pain in the ****, someone must do a sealed switch or something?
