On reading a recent thread it appeared that you can set the alarm on a MY01 to lock the doors automatically once you turn the ignition on.

I tried this last night but couldn't get it to work, was told to start car (or turn key so lights, etc come on), press alarm fob 4 times then turn car off.

Nothing happened.

Does this actually work, if so, what am I doing wrong people. Can't find any info in manual (which doesn't appear to cover alarm at all).

Cheers

Chris

I think you:
turn on
press fob once
press 4 on the keypad

There is a thread in Security about this.

Cheers

You should have a seperate manual for the alarm. The keypad method is the correct one.

Press 4 on the keypad?

What's that then. I don't think I've got a keypad.

Cheers

Should be below your steering column at the RHS. Looks like a fuse box.

Thumbs up

Marvelous, found it, thanks people.

Dealer didn't give me a manual for the alarm so will try to get one to find out what the rest of the buttons do!

Thanks again

Burt, yes it did work,

turn ignition on (so engine warning lights etc come on) press the alarm fob once then press 4 on the keyboard (mine is situated under the fog light switches), exactly as stated above really.

Dealer told me that the alarm doesn't come with a manual, funny that seing as I found mine in the glove box

Does the car unlock when you turn the engine off?
