Question

My parents have just bought one of these large american motor homes, and need a good alarm system for it, but not only to cover the door etc, but to alarm the outside storage areas.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I personally hate motor homes, caravans and any slow things, but they have one.

Get them to put a Mormon/Jehovah/Buddhist Recruiting bus sign on it. No-one will dare go near.

I've done a quite a lot of Alarms and Tracking systems on American motor homes, including Fleetwoods, Damons and Winnebagos, but what I would say is that they are all different and as such require a tailored solution for each vehicle and its owners varied demands. There is no "one box fits all". The good thing with some of the American A Class motorhomes though is that some are 12 Volt and this lends itself to all the mainstream products available. Why don't your parents speak to their local agent for the vehicle and ask them who they use or would recommend. I maybe able to advise you or even do an installation for but you need to be specific about your expectations of the security system.
