Depends how much you expect to get for it. If you don't think removing it will affect the value of the car then maybe, there is a market for used Cat1 alarms but at much reduced prices due to the possible reliability issues, loom being used, some VSIB installers probably won't touch a used alarm etc.

Sorry to go OT, but do you have a manual for the Cobra? There's a 7900 model already fitted in mine and I ain't got a clue how to work it except arm/disarm it. Cheers.

Not really worth selling Chelle, once its removed it would then cost a bit of cash to get it re-fitted if it was going to be Thatcham CAT1 certified.

IMHO you would probably only get about £50 - £75 for the alarm anyway, Most of the cost when you buy them is the fitting charges.

Problem with removing a CAT1 Alarm is most of the wires on the loom are black and once they have the tags removed you cant tell which is which to refit it.

The black wires thing will make things difficult if you're refitting yourself, but if taken to an installer they'll often have the same model available to compare and trace the wires from the control unit.

PS About that manual... sorry for the delay missed this thread! Does it have anything about changing the settings, I wanna disable the bloody beeps when arming/disarming, people are starting to confuse me with the Nova boys! Cheers.
