I was planning on fitting one, but don't actually know if my alarm system (standard) will kick in once the timer switches off/.
Anyone know?

I think there's a way to do this, but it involves electronics know-how as you have to delay the setting of the alarm by use of timed relays or something....

Living dangeriously mark leaving the car with the engine running but locked is one thing but unlocked with the engine running and having faith that it will auto lock itself!

Ali,
You're right but I would always manually lock the doors. The only place I really leave the car is at work (safest place in the world ) or on my drive. I never really leave it out of sight apart from that.
Most TT's have a handbrake cut too...
