I wouldn't worry about it too much, I get less Knocklink activity on Shell or BP SUL than I do on Optimax.

I thought initially the Knocklink may be just picking up the extra power ? but that was wishfull thinking on my part as my performance meter archives told me Shell SUL had been in the tank on my best power run (similar weather conditions)

The guys down south swear by it and actually map their engines differently for Optimax however there appears to be a North / South quality difference. A number of Southerners have claimed that Optimax North of the Midlands is inferior to SUL !

Must write to Shell and enquire if it all comes from the same refinery ?

Spoke with Shell customer services a couple of weeks ago and was informed that Optimax would be avaliable to every Scottish retailer from the end of March.

The Shell garage between top of Byres road and Maryhill is advertising the stuff but none to be seen as yet.

P.S. Sorry that wasn't a better run on Sunday Cosmic but I'm sure you enjoyed it anyway. Hopefully you won't recognise the car next time round as I have a couple of mods. lined up for the weekend.
