Heya, got Question, got a '99 impreza (pics in profile), got it in february, FSH and receipts etc, doing 334bhp on last rolling road. anyway, checked my oil and was by the F mark ( not the notch) when cold, then did 420 miles all motorway through the night so sat at around 80mph...couple days later when was on 600 miles thought I'd check oil before the reurn trip, and the oil was just about 1 mm on the dipstick! Added 1.5l Millers 10/60 fully synthetic oil and then drove back. car was sat for 24 hours, checked the dipstick, and again was just 1mm on the dipstick. added 1.5l and upto normal. Got full set Defi gauges, oil pressure, temp etc hadnt changed and theres no leak! It doesnt do it when am using it for daily runs......any ideas?????

Been told its either the turbo gone or the oil control rings so would need engine rebuild!! Any one here had that work done, and how much??? Got no unusual smoke when driving, only when rev it so the turbo kicks in do you get smoke with a blue hint to it!!!!!

check your breathers, I er forgot to vent one of mine to atmosphere as I cant recirc them on my set up and after giving the car some boost whilst being mapped I would have plumes of blue smoke coming out the back end, pulled a breather off and all was fine.
just a thought and cheeper than a rebuild / turbo to check the breathers
