Hi the RB320 is a Ltd edition so don't think anyone will mod one if you can resist this then they seem pretty good with extras such as interior, wheels and grills plus a decent supsension set up as standard think by prodrive using eibach items.
These are alot more price wise and as for resale you can get a STi for a good few quid less so don't know if the LTd edition would be enough for others to choose over an STi.
Probably best to drive both and see if the £7k you mentioned is worth while or if you could just by an STi PPP and spend £2k on its suspension and get a wider choice of paint colour other that black

TBH, AFAIK the RB320 doesn't really have a lot more performancewise than a PPP'd STi (but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). Difference being that it probably will hold it's value slightly better than a Std STi (then again it should for that kind of premium).

thanks for replies guys got a bit more thinking and research to be done my local garage not the best they wouldn't get of there chairs to come outside to talk to you so might have to search a bit for a garage that knows its stuff another possible could be a GB270 but idealy would like one nearer 300horse

haven't driven a subaru in anger no but have driven something similar can't say what i drove on here i'd be linched
but tommi had one.
to be honest i like a bit of bragging rites sad i know but i have a competitive
streek that i can't tame and would like something nice but looks and sounds purposeful
without the need to rag it to prove it i have read that the PPP is a step up even
in town situations from a standard car better response at lower revs
etc but thats why i came on here to get the answers from the true enthusiasts that really know

The RB320 has better suspension as previously mentioned - it's also got custom wheels as well (18's) - overall the package combines really well on the road.
Other differences to the STi with PPP are the front lip and also I'm not sure if the STi comes with a diffuser as standard.
Internally then most people upgraded from the original seats and went for either full leather or leather/alcantra (they came with Blue STi seats as totally standard). Another option taken by quite a few was the Clarion Sat-Nav.
Other than that it's a limited edition which, given the price difference you're seeing, probably points towards better residuals.
I have to admit I'm slightly biased - View my scooby
There are a couple of owners selling at the moment so you may be able to get one for less than the £7k difference. If you need any help or have any questions feel free to PM me

Suspension wise totally different from the STi I tried - I've driven the STi with PPP and my RB320 - The RB320 feels a lot more connected to the road but the suspension feels supple - it's not a soft ride but nowhere near as stiff as some cars I've driven.
I've driven it to Holland before (from the Midlands) so driving for around 6-7 hours without being uncomfortable.
Personally I'd say you'd really have to try one but again I am slightly biased.
If you need any more info on the RB320 then the owners club has a good forum
One other extra you get (which I'd forgotten about because I use it every day!) is the quickshift

Yeah, but end of the day, £7k i a lot of a difference between a "normal" 06/07 STi and an RB320. You can get a decent set of wheels, splitter, suspension and other mods for £7k...

Agreed it is a lot of difference and you can get a decent set of upgrades for the money - but unless you spend significantly less than £7k getting the same upgrades you'll be left with a poorer deal in the long run as residuals on a special edition would always be more IMHO
