Default STi 8 i/c fitting-Central Belt

Who has fitted one of these to a 99 classic before or even better who can fit one of these for me...

The only worry i have is that i don't want to fit a larger scoop (like the stealth look) . How do i get round this and will it work ok ????
I know i need a diffuser but will this set up work efficiently enough..

Was thinking of fitting a F/mount but as im only looking at around 315bhp/torque , i think it might be a mod too far (unless more power creep begins)...

Cheers

Do it yourself!

Give yourself a weekend to do the job and it'll be fine.

The I/c fitting is not the bit that's worrying me , I'm just not sure about the diffuser and what else is needed Dave..I want the i/c to be as efficient as it can be and to get it right first time..

I know Carl Davey was trying to manufacture something to help with the air flow and the like..but he hasn't tested the part he's made yet..

ps; a weekend to do the job... (remember i'm not mechanically minded)
or computer minded either ( you forgot about the copy and paste saga)

I certainly have NOT forgotten that "saga"!

You got all the bits you need? IC, IC pipe, etc?

If so, i may help you out if you want?

Not bought anything yet..Hopefully the moneys will be in place in the next couple of weeks for ALL the planned mods.

I remember i mentioned a FMIC to you before and it seemed like too much at this stage Dave, it was just incase i went a stage or two further later on and to save the hassle changing again later on..

So i'm back thinking about the top mount (for peace of mind before i decide) again before i buy any parts.. I know it's not too big a job to fit the I/c, i just have concerns with what's needed under the bonnet so i can retain the OE Scoop , make sure it will work efficiently (charge temps ?) and if everything will be ok in the long run..

If not.........i'll just get a FMIC.. and find someone to help me fit it..

Get an FMIC unless the other top mount is a bargain.

Why do the same job twice and having a front mount makes things a lot easier to work on under the bunnet.

Stick with a top quality secondhand unit. That way, you know exactly what your getting and it's more cost effective.
