Hullo ladies

Not having any luck selling my car privately, so it looks as if I’ll have to go down the trade in route to get a Scooby

Has anyone been near a Subaru (or other!) dealer recently and saw a car that might fit the bill? I’ve tried the Subaru website, but it’s a bit wonky and have also found that the prices there tend to be higher than the windscreen prices when you visit the dealer.

Ideally, I’m looking for an T, V or W plate Impreza in Silver or DBM, or a lower mileage R or S plate in Reddish Blue (or a Terzo) – hopefully between 10 and 32k miles

My budget would be between £12 and £15k maximum depending on what I get for a trade in on my X reg 206 GTI

Nobles in Penicuik did have a V plate with 22k for £14,995, but I missed that - I think this is the same car that Dougie had at the RR on Sunday? Unfortunatley Nobles are now offering me £1,500 less for my trade in than they did two months ago so looks as if I'll not be trading it in there...

Any help appreciated as I am now getting fed up with this whole car selling business. If I can’t find one soon, I’ll have to give up until the New Year

PS Thanks also to everyone who has previously emailed with offers of Imprezas for sale privately, but unfortunately as I can’t sell my own car, I can’t buy privately. Unless you know someone looking for a minted 206 GTI for a bargain price.

Posting up here would help or email to: the_gza@talk21.com as me other email is gubbed. Either that or give me a bell on 07759 230 224

Ta muchly

Cool

Stan Palmer in Carlisle have one; "T"-plate, 33K mls, asking £14,995
www.subaru.r66internet.co.uk/html/body_carview.asp?ID=543674
Not quite your ideal, but I'm sure they'll move on the price. I bought my MY '00 there during the summer. Worth the run for the test drive in their P1 ex - demonstrator.
If your travelling down the M74 from Glasgow, watch out for the very high level specs camera near Johnstonebridge.

John,
The ABD thinks it's a SPECS (about 1/3rd the way down the page).
I'm sure I remember seeing a picture of two SPECS cameras on the same pole (angled apart) on The Speedtrap Bible site before it moved to its new location.
I don't know if it's still there; I can't access it from home as it crashes my browser (IE4).
It's possibly not there any more anyway as Paul Gander has wrecked what was probably the best U.K. speed trap site when it was run by Chris Longhurst (I can access it from work, but I'm off today )

GZA,

Maybe more to your liking; S & S Services have an "R" (I think!)-plate Terzo.

GZA,

Sorry mate, but I bought the Terzo at S & S this morning.

I know how you feel, cause I've been looking for months for a good one. There are three that I know of at the moment. The one at Heritage in Leeds is a fantastic car, with black LEATHER seats. Two problems, 1) Its done 51000 miles. 2)They've taken the stereo out. The car used to belong to their MD so it's been well maintained. If you look at the picture on the Subaru website it might just be worth the journey, or speak to James the Salesman, nice guy, he might just help It's priced at £15500 but it's been there a couple of weeks now, so he might do a deal.
The second car is at Concours in Haselmere in Surrey, I never went to see that car so I don't know the condition it's in, they only got the car in on Tuesday although it was advertised for a week before. Speak to Keith there, he was helpful. Although there was another salesman called Robin, who, to be honest never returned a phonecall when he said he would. When I did speak to him and mentioned the non-returned call he was a bit abrasive on the phone. That one has 40000 miles and priced at £13995.
The third car was advertised on Private BBS site about a week ago,the user name was BATWICK. He lives on the Isle of White and has uprated the engine and brakes, its done 35000. I was going to have a look at it but the insurance was silly money over a £1000 more in one case over a standard car. Again, I don't know what it's like but it might be worth looking back through the BBS and contacting him, his first name is Patrick. We never discussed a price but I think it might not be cheap.

Hope this has been of some help.
Ed

Ed and A-E

Thanks for the help guys - I was actually on the phone to one of the other salesmen at S&S in the morning but he phoned back to say some guy had flown up from London and bought the car.

Ed - Hope you enjoy your new car - it looks like a cracker!

Big Lee,

I'd be interested but no takers for my car yet

Unless you'd be interested in a p/x for my car (see my post in Private)

Hello

Just a wee thing i hear you goin on about the camera at johnstonbridge, i am reasonable sure it aint a specs camera as there are around 15 identical removalable camera cctv things between gretna and abington.

FACT: Dumfries and Galloway only have 2 portable cameras.

I would be more worried when i see the lockerbie sign, they are there every day so slow down there, they time you between the white boxes.

So if your heading south first lockerbie flyover M74

Just a bit of useless info

Ta

Paul

Chris G - you have mail

Robertio - thanks mate

Dougie - I drove the slightly older V plate with 22k on the clock - was this the one your Dad bought or was is the newer one with the 6 spoke alloys? Either way they were both really nice and your Dad's a jammy bu66er

Shame I missed 'em though but I'm sure I'll find something else (this century )
