Exclamation Calder are alive?

I've been out of the country for a while and so had my STi5 up for sale at Calder Motors and i last spoke to them a couple of weeks ago after the sale of the car went through.

Seems they've disappeared now.

I sent an email this morning and it bounced back and so i headed straight for their website but that has gone now as well.

Anybody closer than i am to tell me whether they are alive, dead or renamed etc.? If they are dead then they probably have just ran off with all my money

Thanks.

I was up there last Friday - very much still open. Customer service has always been shocking in my experience, so I'm not surprised they haven't been in contact.

With the show/drag season upon us, they'll be focusing all their attentions on that. They don't even open at the weekends anymore!?

Thanks briforbes that makes me feel at least a little better.

I had my IT guy work back from their last webpage and found they didn't renew the subscription for the web or mail server etc. so that had me worried a bit too and being so far away now it's impossible for me to just pop over for a look see.

Not open at weekends now? Is this like their summer thing?

Seems to be their "whenever they feel like it" thing. You'll still find people pottering about but they won't sell you anything and begrudge talking to you. If you call them during the week you should get hold of them.

If you can't get hold of the number let me know and I'll get it for you this weekend?

We managed to track them down on Friday.

They do seem to have a few cashflow issues hence the reason i've not been paid, their web & email servers have been put offline by their provider etc.

I mean i like the guys there, they did help me get the STi SVA'd etc. and i don't want to get all heavy but i think i've waited long enough to get paid so we'll see if they fullfil their promise this time.

Thanks again.

Yes it was quite similar (T-reg), had been there for a while.

I had been trying to sell the car a while privately but i ran out of time before moving overseas so since they had helped get the car legal i asked that maybe they could help again but once this last little part is done then i'm finished there.

Of course the hardest part is always the last part. They won't get much longer from me now, thanks guys.

Wouldn't touch Calder with a barge pole. They've been around for years, used to deal with dodgy XR3i/ RS/ GTE stuff before the jap scene exploded. All their 'demo' cars were bought it, and the stuff they import is apparently not according to the auction grade they claim....
