Richard Burns Raceday 6th May
Hi people,
As some of you are already aware the Ayrshire Region of the sidc are organising an event at Kames on Saturday the 6th of May to coincide with the RB Memorial Relay from Lands End to John O'Groats.
Kames is being used as the Saturday night stopover.
.
We are hoping to have numerous rally cars on display with demonstration runs around the track throughout the day.Several rally crews have expressed an interest in taking part, hopefully we'll get more positive replies in due course. We're also going to have a raffle with the lucky winners getting to experience a Rally Car at full chat around the tight complex at Muirkirk, sorry it will only be a passenger ride not a drive!!!!!
These rally crews are giving us their time & expensive machinery for the day, lets make it a good one folks.
There will also be a display of SIDC cars on the day with a Show & Shine Competition being judged in the afternoon with various prizes, help with prizes would be appreciated.
A barbeque has also been proposed to help generate more funds in aid of Cancer Research.
Entry fee to Kames will be £3/ person, under 16's free
In the evening there will be a Track Session for SIDC members only.(5pm till 9pm)
Costs will be £20/car with passengers paying £5.
We are working closely with East Ayrshire Car Club, who have kindly given us free use of their track faclilities, to organise this event. At present I'm awaiting confirmation from the SIDC about insurance cover so that we can run this event safely & legally.
Camping facilities have been arranged at the Caravan Park next door to Kames Track for £10/tent.They have toilet/shower blocks. There's also a public bar/lounge/function room for those seeking refreshments & they have entertainment on a Saturday night.
All gate receipts/donations/fees from this are going to Cancer Research in memory of the late great World Rally Champion Richard Burns.
Hopefully all regions throughout the country can lend a helping hand to make this a successful weekend.
EACC will be running a rally on the Sunday as part of the Five of Clubs Championship,so why not come along & make a weekend of it
Andy.
