Just a note to anyone trying to contact AWD by email. Their computer is not working so phone instead.
I was wondering why they had not got back to me about something but now I know.
Cheers

Hi Guys
As far as I know the deal with the links is they were trying to sell 5 full kits then get Bob Rawle to come up to fit/map them all in a oner.
Saves the locals having to travel for this service.
Any queries contact Grant or Scott-01738 633336

Unfortunately the link plan went pear shaped.
I was set to get the full kit fitted but it fell through due to various difficulties between the two companies. (AWD and BRD)
However I am still keen to get this done, and the more people who express an interest the better as it would give us more leverage.
Perhaps we could get a group buy going with BRD/scoobymania?

that is what I was told too,but AWD have them advertised at £895 so this must be the ECU fitted and mapped by AWD.
a group buy is one thing, but without a good mapper it is risky and gains could be small.I am sure I read a thread somewhere that said that the factory set Link ECU is not much better than the standard Subaru ECU and it is only when mapped to one particular car, that the large gains are made.
Scotland needs a Link mapper as in my opinion BRD is just too far away.we read of people needing tweaks to the map occasionally which is understandable but they are not close enough for me to even consider.
I was going for a boost controller, but held off because of the AWD/Link rumours.if AWD are able to fit and map these units and offer local "back up" then I will be having one for next years track days.
think I will call AWD tomorrow and find out.

hi guys
the standard map that comes with the link is something to get the car running really and that is it.
mapping link ecu is not that difficult but every year model is different as i found out with pete's car. the later MY99-00 cars are a lot easier porbably just because i have got one probably .
i have said this before i am more than happy to help anyone with their link. this means i won't charge anyone money but again, i won't take any resposiblitlies either. life is complicated enough .

To those interested in the Link, why don't you ask Bob if he's willing to fly up here to Scotland to map your cars? It'd be cheaper to arrange a cheap flight and bring him up here than drive down, book a room for the night, sort the ECU then drive back up again. That's what Sam and I did..well worth it.
