Monthly Meet
#1
Would anyone be interested in a monthly meet?
The format would be along the same lines as previous meets, with a suggested time & place to get together, a planned route, followed by a bite to eat somewhere.
Dates would be set as not to co-incide with events organised by SIDC or events at Crail or Knockhill. ie.Sundays with nothing to do.
If there is enough interest, we could decide on a different location every month & have someone local to that area plan a meeting place & a route.I'm sure that most of you have favourite driving roads that we'd all appreciate.
Your feedback please
Dave

Dave,
I've already taken steps to appoint a group of regional organisers across Scotland, and asked them to arrange one big event every year, and one in their area at least every 3 months (or however often the members in their area want to meet up).
There are 6 or 7 of them, which should mean at least one event every month, and probably two during the summer months.
You don't need to go to them all of course
More details announced soon, once I've had confirmation back from all of those who asked to help out, or who I appraoched directly. All have organised at least one event in the past.
We have in the coming weeks:
March 17th - Knockhill (fully booked)
March 25th - Run from Aberdeen through Ski-slopes and Ballater/Braemar etc.
March 30th - karting event (now also fully booked).
April 20th - Lotus track evening (fully booked with 60 Elises!!)
May 6th - Ardoe House Hotel (on the South Deeside Road out of Aberdeen). Static car show with the RS Owners Club, with prizes for the best looking car.
Unfortunately the Foot and Mouth crisis may restrict country drives for the next month or so, so we may just have to play things by ear.
For the summer months, we should have another borders event, one on Central Scotland (our annual BBQ at the usual place probably), one on the west coast, and we are also looking at getting the use of Kames (sprint track). We'll also have the usual events at Alford (with use of the sprint track of course ), possibly another karting event (these are proving incredibly popular), and whatever else comes up.
Should be our busiest (and best) year yet.

Good idea Dave, but I suspected John would post that there is probably already at least one a month on the cards. Did not know about the March 25th one though.
Dobt if N1 TUT will miss many of them.

we will be up to spectate though, jim at star found out the car is only ruuning 7psi instead of 12-14 psi so its going into the garage a week today hopefully they will have the problem sorted out.
next big problem will be to get some cash together and get those damn brakes upgraded to 4 pots

I'll be at Knockhill as well. But like Dougie, I'm too chicken to take my pride and joy onto the track.

Fancy meeting up to go up to Knockhill together? What kind of excuses was John Spicer giving you regarding the underboost problem? Need to let me know how your car got on. Say "Hi" to John Spicer for me the next time you see him .

Dave,
no toes trodden upon In general we are trying to make our Sunday events not coincide with Crail or Knockhill Hot hatch events, which may mean only one day per month free for events. It could be a very busy year
25th Meet up in Aberdeen in the morning, drive up through the Lecht and ski-slope area. Have lunch, a game of pool etc, and then drive back home again.
It will depend on the weather of course, but more details closer to the date.

John saw your post about Kames, who are you in touch with ? I am a member of East Ayrshire Car Club (we own Kames) so I could sort it out for you.
