You need to check out this site and send off for your Race Pack - £45 I think - as I have just received mine.

I take it you mean sprints not springs....

I'm getting my licence to do Hillclimbs too. I watched the last one at Gurston Down near Salisbury and I thought I'd have some of that....

When you get your race pack, you then need to organise a medical (which may prove to be expensive - so shop around) and then you have to sit your National B Licence Test - which includes a multi-choice exam and a test on track (this will probably be over £200)

Then you need to apply for your licence and join a club and enter a race - so loads more expense. But then it would be great fun - so well worth it and you never know you might even win your class

This is all true, except for the fact that in your first post you're talking about a non-race nat B license. This is a totally different kettle of fish, and merely requires the use of a pen to fill in the form and send off a cheque for (IIRC) £35

Moses, give me a call tomorrow, after 3pm, number is on www.eastayrshirecc.co.uk ..... and I'll tell you all you need to know. You have more to consider than just the licence.

Ahh

Things are becoming a little clearer now. I was under the impression that I needed to go the whole hog with medical, etc - but a friend has also told me differently today - so looks like I'll be up and running too for a lot less expense than I had expected.

Moses - are you planning on enterng a hillclimb then??

I hope to run at Gurston Down in June.

Cheers

Terry
