Just watched a documentary about the place on BBC2. Is it THAT bad? It just seemed doom and gloom from start to finish. However, it only showed it from a teenagers point of view and they all want to leave. It occured to me that all 15-20 year olds' will find ANYWHERE boring!

I would be interested to hear from someone in their 20's and 30's and find out their opinion and if they stuck around or moved away. Or is the place like an elephants grave yard and you only return to die!

Mind you, I did dig those deep fried pizza's

If the cars had been there, it would have been just like a Scoobymeet!!!!

Typical west coast town. Like Oban and Lochgilphead. I've lived in a few over the years and when the weather is good its fantastic but for the other 360 days a year its just like it was portrayed on the tv.

Hi guys, I am from Campbeltown and although the programme did reflect a true side to the wee toon it was a bit selective. my parents tell me that a lot of the teenagers on the programme got their ***** kicked after wed night!

Although it is clear that there are some troubled kids in the town and like most west coast towns, you either put up with it or move. I moved then I was 17.

I was born and brought up in a town in the north highlands...left when I was 19, never saw the documentary but I can imagine the picture it painted. Basically there's nothing to do but drink and drink and drink, drive about half canned, crash cars and get girls pregnant...hmmm sounds like not a bad life - might move back :-D
