careful does it-eyes in the sky
Went up to Dunoon this morning, firstly an unmarked navy blue BMW series 7 between Erskine bridge and Dumbarton on the A82 active in the 40mph bit, secondly a marked volvo in Tarbert on the A83 in the 30mph bit, and lastly when I pulled over into a layby after the long fast straights at the A815 turnoff to Dunoon to answer a mobile call a police helicopter with all the video gear hanging from its belly like a hemmoroid buzzed me, circled, and seemed to take a good look (or to make its presence known?) so careful tomorrow on your run.

I have it on good authority that they do.
Is it a 740 Beemer or the usual 530 turbo diesel? Anyway, any unobtrusive, high performance car should be treated with much caution. Also, don't forget about the unmarked motorbikes.
I don't want to sound paranoid or worry people about tomorrow (LLS), just that they'll be like flies around a jam jar (polite translation!).

If everybody is reasonably sensible then there isn't a lot they can do. There is often a hand held radar presence in the Tarbert 30mph area - they usually stand in the bus stop near the main junction.
Anybody speeding in a 30 deserves all they get anyway IMHO.
Probably get more or less the same level of police attention as there was for the Gairloch Coaches Rally (spelling!!) last year about this time.
Den (I might turn up for a look at the turnout but not sure about the drive)

Anyhoo. Balloch-Luss-Tarbert up to Crianlarich is an old RAC Rally Route if your interested. same as some of the roads aroung Arrochar-Portincaple
Wish I was there to see y'all. I miss home :'( heh heh
lots of MOD Plods in the area and MOD Choppers. they are usually in Helensburgh, Rosneath Peninsula, Coulport, New Road (Bypass military road) glen douglas. Thier bark is worse than their bite.
was once told an old wives tale about Pigs in Blankets. impartical but here it is. On the plate. They usually have no markings what so ever apart from the Reg - No border, no fancy sh*t no garage name.

No Spliffy, I do mean the Gareloch Coaches RALLY which used to be the Argyll stages rally until Gareloch Coaches sponsored it.
Hey Andy, who you callin a fanny? I said I'd be at LLS but may not be able to do the drive (depends where it's heading & the time involved)

Oi! I nearly got nicked by the "Pork-Pie in the Sky" once, and that was without the Scoob. In fact, it was without a car, but you might see me on "Police, Camera - Action" some night in the wee small hours.
I'm sure everyone will be fine if they don't go daft; not that there will be a lot of opportunity to do so given the present traffic (small "T") volume on the road.
The old MoD road (2nd left, past the Arden / Helensburgh roundabout) is a must for anyone who hasn't been along there before, but be warned, there are some strange cambers and steep dips.

i dont think there will be much scope for a blast giving the fact that there will be at least 50 cars in a convoy
I think anyone that gives it some would only cause trouble for themselves
