Help me price my car!!
Going to be selling my car, but its so hard putting a fair price on it!!
Here are the details...please give me an idea!
1999T Impreza UK Turbo saloon.
47k miles with FSH
Metallic paint.
Factory standard, but has tracker and Cat 1 to help sell it.
Mint condition?
Location:SW Scotland (fewer around in Autotrader!!)
Is it worth over £9k????

I would say £9k is a maximum you could hope to get, £8.5 would be a more realistic starting point. I bought a 00my 5 dr turbo last June 31k on clock, 1 owner, fssh, a/c, superb condition for £9500, which was probably cheap, however I wouldn't price it at much more than £9k now (40k), so a '99 is going to be worth less. There are some on here mistakely holding on to false dreams that their car is worth a lot more than it actually is, and I wait to get flamed. All depends how quick you want to sell I suppose.

I sold a 'reasonable' condition MY99 with 60k miles brand new MY00 alloys and tyres, FSSH, 4-door, dbm, uprated sound system and brakes back to a dealer for £7050 with a pending big serivce. Had it had its service and been in the 'mint' condition you describe then you 'might' be able to sell it private for £8500 but you will probably have to wait around. I didn't get a single viewer in 2 months despite loads of people expressing interest on the phone/email, etc.

could that be due to your car being modified then demodified?
The sad truth about Impreza prices are that Saxo Boy got the going rate for his car.
I traded my MY00 36k on clock, mint, in last October and some main dealers were offering me £7k then!

I bought a MY00 X plate standard car with 73,000 miles 1 owner fssh and 18 months subaru warranty for £8200 3weeks ago. Granted the miles were a bit high for the year but in my opinion the 18 months warranty compensates for that and i dont do very much mileage. There are many cars in autotrader at silly prices, these cars will never sell though.

Acquaintance sold his car last month:
MY99 on a V - UK car
white with body kit ( immaculate no dings/repairs)
magnex exhaust - dyno'd at 280bhp so may have had other minor mods - I dont know.
c.40k miles i think.
2 owners from knew
The car was absolutely mint ( the man is a fanatic for car cleanliness), had all the reciepts etc .... you get the picture.
went in the autotrader at £10250 - sold to first viewer for £9750.
Guess it reiterates - private sales will get you a higher price, and if mint really is mint including the history and paper bits, then you might get the price you need.

People didn't know it has been modified unless they asked and in any event the modifications to my car are not damaging in anyway. Decat is as standard a mod as mods get and the remap was by John Play it Safe as Houses Banks

I would put it up for £9,500. If it does'nt sell bring it down to £9,000. Better starting at the higher end of what you think you might get, and bring it down if it does'nt sell. Thats what i would do anyway. Or better still keep it and enjoy!!
