30 years of speeding fines

as heard on Reporting Scotland......
Speed limit signs were installed on a busy Edinburgh road three decades ago without permission, it has emerged.
There has been a 40 mile an hour limit on the Maybury Road stretch near the Barnton roundabout since the 1970s.
However, when councillors looked into extending the limit it was discovered that the traffic order had not been granted in the first place.
The council now plans to seek the necessary consent.
