Dont you dare jinx me Johnny!! lol

I think I may be giving the 1/4 mile a wee rest for a while, dont think I'll be able to go very much lower than 13.3 without other mods, so at the moment, that'll do me!!

Cheers,
Grant

Depending on the set up and driver you might have won (unless it was t-uk). My Tek2.5 MY99 was running faster times than a 300+ front mount (guy from here forget his name!) scooby for most of the day when I was at Crail. Eventually he just wound his boost right up and thumped me. Nevertheless the lazy big turbo and lag between changes gave me a slight edge to counteract the outright power advantage

This morning I started a stop watch at 59mph (indicated) and stopped it at 103mph (indicated) to try and get a reasonable indication of 60-100 time of my pug. 10.1s which with the stated 6.9 to 60 gives 17 dead to 100mph I REALLY can't wait to go to crail with this thing - those hot-hatches won't see it coming

my first drag event , bar the 3 standing launches on a timed handling circuit last year.

did 6runs before going home. last run was against "the garage" P1 , who had me off the line but I just took at the finish. very impressive P1 and driver with his results ,give this guy another 100bhp with a 20g turbo and I think he will be into 11's.

my best was
12.569 sec 0.548 sec 2.078 sec 113.9 mph

Hi Grant,

I was the chap with DBM MY99/00 UK Scoob with Tek 2.5 - I enjoyed the race we had, unfortunately I missed 4th gear on that run :-(

My best from the day was
13.374 sec 0.508 sec 2.038 sec 104.7 mph

So I look forward to the next challenge to even the match :-)

Cheers
Kenny

LOL !!!! You reckon you'll get it under 15 John ?? Nah - think you're being a bit optimistic there ! . I assume you're talking about launching in 4th gear ??

Had one run down the strip in the Skyline. A mate's doing an article on Crail, and we got a free run to "see what it was like" !! Just ran standard boost, (as I was up against a Golf ), and got a 13.008. Think I'll go up for the April one and see what kinda times I can pull with the EVC tweaked up a bit. First time on the strip, so I was happy not to stall it on the line !!

It was pretty good fun - I probably wouldn't have bothered if I'd had to pay (especially as the queue was HUGE), but I was pleasantly surprised and want to give it a proper go now.
See you there in April !

Dave

Kenny... I'll definately be up for a re-match mate, it was close all the way up the strip and if you hadnt missed 4th then it would have been very interesting at the end!!

Dave (kart_man) I saw your one run up the strip, looked a wee bit nippy, your launch was pretty good IIRC!!

Ian... 0.102 is quicker than most I suppose...

Cheers,
Grant

dave,

was it your skyline that followed me back towards kirkcaldy?

sorry if I was holding you up but I think those bas7ard vans got me twice on the way up in the morning , once on the dual carriageway and another driving through leven , wondering if the road was still a 40, could not see a sign so started slowing down only to spot another ****. just have to wait and see what drops through the post.

Yep, that was me. You turned towards kirkaldy, and I headed up to the a92 to the bridge. Cars and cameras everywhere yesterday.. I was just cruising as I knew they'd be out in force, so you weren't holding me up at all. I had that 5 series behind me for about 3 miles... I was sure he was going to pull me just to have a neb at the car, but he got bored of driving at 30 eventually !!
Fingers crossed that nothing comes of the cameras eh mate !?

What motor were you in Grant ? I was standing watching the starts for a while, but didn't know who's the scoobies were. Plus I'd lost the ability to talk anyway, as all my saliva had frozen solid !!!!! I'd forgotten how cold it gets up there and decided to leave the jacket in the house ! Doh !

Good day anyway, and I'll be up for a blast next time for sure.

D

lol... Enough of this replacement clutch chat , you'll have me paranoid that its gonna give up anytime now!!

I will admit that 19 runs is a little excessive, but when you're in the zone, its impossible to stop!! lol

Grant

thanks alan.

I was tempted to stick the dawes on and get the boost back up but decided against it. the clutch felt happy and this was the same spec at star. I think I need to practice and get my 60foot times down , rather than looking for more performance at the moment. kev from "the garage" was doing the 60foot in 1.882 so if I can match this, even in the current spec ,it will drop my time a fair bit. possibly getting rid of the fuldas and getting something better.

launching is certainly an art, I cannot get over the difference between what feels like a bog and a wheel spin start.

I would love to see you up there one day to let me see what a 20g , with a 7k limit does .

I have a TD05 with 7k redline(UK block).

iirc you have a 20g with standard headers and top mount , so this should be an impressive set-up. the thing is , once you add lag with headers and a fmic the 7k limit seems small , which is why I would like to see alan's car as a comparison. his UK has over 400bhp and over 350lb-ft.

na m8. i have just the 05 too. only if i was going the full hog and wanting over 400 would i go for the 20g or similar. then i'd also have to get fmic, headers, injectors and parrallel fuel rail mod, but not wanting to start saving up for a new g-box

Well Let's see what i get then with the 20G, top mount and anti-lag... Few weeks to wait yet though

IIRC Kevs P1 made 310bhp at star with only a de-cat

Smile

got my rb5's mixed up

what does the knocklink make of anti-lag?

kev also has a dawes which was why I was thinking of fitting mine , to bring the boost back up to what it was mapped for and to bring it in hard again but I will save it for when I fit the AP .
