commander u need for mapping mate
powerfc, a fuel pressure regulator and bigger fuel pump thats what we need for evos and also a boost controller but maybe the same for a scoob too mate
see with a ecu u get rid of your fuel cut prob, u mapp your fuelling and ignition timing to suit and some have the option of anti lag and launch control too and other options
powerfc
autronics
gems
link etc their all mappable and the expensive motec too

PFC is just an aftermarket ECU, allows control over fueling, timing, etc.
Commander is a handheld device that allows you to alter the settings on the PFC.
Datalogit (don't know if the scoob version is available yet) is a box that plugs into the ECU (like the commander) which can then be plugged into a laptop. This allows an easier form of mapping as well as aditional control such as anti-lag and wideband display. Can also be used to log runs, montioring just about everything.
Boost controller simply allows control over the amount of boost you are running. The PFC can control boost, to a certain extent, but for controlling boost over about 1 bar (depends on the limit of teh stock sensor) you either need to get the boost control kit for the PFC (which comes with a 3 bar sensor) or a seperate boost controller and sensor. By all accounts the PFC is acceptable for boost control, but ideally run a seperate boost controller as it will be much quicker at reacting.
As for what it can do for your car, well it is entirely up to you and the mapper to decide what you want to get from it, but really it just allows you to have the car setup properly for whatever mods you have fitted. Just the same as any other ECU. The main thing when choosing an ECU is who / where can set it up for you, no point in having the greatest ECU in the world if no one can configure it properly.
My experience of it is on my RX-7, but Apexi like to keep things as similar as possible so can't imagine the scooby one will be much different.

cheers lads. just don't no what to do now. i'm runnin a peak boost off a dawes at 17.6psi with no fuel cut, whereas before, when i didn't have a certain carbon canister pipe fitted, i was runnin 16.4psi peak and getting what i reckoned WAS fuel cut. that's all fine and dandy, but the car doesn't have as much of a kick when boost comes in and i can actually hear the turbo spooling a WHOLE lot clearer. it's pi55ing me off a bit tbh.it seems just as fast, but not as much neck snapping power. only runnin full decat, blitz ind kit, dawes and optimax with nf.
