Thumbs down

Just a note of warning for you folks out there in and around Livingston.

There are two (hopefully temporary for roadworks) speed cameras at the 'Freeport' junction of the M8 (its 3A I think). Worse still, theres one at either side!!

If your approaching westbound watch out for the big silly horn on the right handside (most of you will know what Im on about) - the camera is situated at the top of the incline along the big straight before you approach the junction. Its a bad one as its on the incline, and chances are you'll struggle to see it or thew white lines in time (crafty beggars!!)

Going eastbound, again its the approach to the junction - you should see the white lines this time. Its about 300-400m short of the slip road.

Hopefully its roadworks and a limited speed zone, then chances are we'll be alright

Marky-San, I think (hope) they will be for road works, there is a sign at the bottom of the J4 sliproad warning of upcoming roadworks.

Update on these cameras, they are sited around J4 on the M8, I saw them tonite, both appear to be temporary ones as they have mobile generators beside them, for the moment there doesn' appear to be any work started on the East bound road (to Edin) but there is work on the West bound (to Glasgow) so no doubt it will be a 50mph zone on that side and the camera will be set pretty near to that.

Its great to see everyone belting along, then the sudden brake lights and the car rear ends lifting as the nose dives!!

Not sure what the road works are for, but hey.....do they? LOL!!

Wonder when the road works are all done and dusted if they'll lift those white lines?

Marky-San, tell me about it, I realised where the east bound one was last night by the glow of brake lights and the lovely view of back axles I was getting
On the white lines, I think they'll probably just leave them there they did that at the Livi turn off "J3 I think".

TIME FOR A ROAD ANGEL OR SOMETHING SIMILAR?
I"m going to get one soon as those bloody awful cameras are popping up everywhere............any suggestions as to which detector is best????????
The cameras are mobile on theM8,but I think they plan to move them around the a bit........after all, they won't make much money if we all know where they are.:-(
