Apparently the track will be open too! It uses the roads in front of the main house. If you are speaking to the organisers can you find out if we can use the track too?

Organiser would like display cars there on Friday night or 8.30 a.m. Saturday 'till 6 p.m. Sunday night!!!!

If they have it that long I would expect them to fix my piston slap!!

As I said I am working and might be able to pop along. If people would like to represent SIDC and have there car there please feel free to contact me directly.

Track is open for rides in classic cars for a small charitable donation.

Dougster - excellent idea to get some cars on display. Might be able to get a 22B along (with subtle for sale signs ), and not sure if Willie would e up for it as well ?

It was poor I am afraid.

Will be giving the organiser a call next week to offer some feedback.

With some better organising and some good clubs there I am sure it would be a fantastic event.

I have ideas but more are welcome.

Edited to say, although I thought it was poor it was still a very interesting event that should appeal to the enthusiast. Just felt it could be sooo much better. Roll on next year.

Only just heard about this event!!!

Maybe if the organisers had bothered to actually tell people it existed then it might have been better

I have 230 car nuts that might have wanted to go.

Yes, loads of punters and loads of bangers. The cars on show were not great examples.........and there wasn't many of them!!
Could be a great event if someone had actually oraganised some decent cars..........The Classic Car Club had a couple of lovely cars...AC Cobra was lovely. But there was a real lack of good examples and information about individual cars. Why was there as stall selling childrens clothes??????I"m a Scooby owner,I have no money left over for such trivial pursuits............lol
Sadly, this is a typical event at Ingliston..........they always seem to be a let down through lack of content......my advice......avoid the place.

Agree that the show was poor however the success of the day was the several thousand pounds raised for charity by the Classic Car Club and their guests who were providing passenger laps around the old Ingliston circuit.

In the rain on Saturday the most popular cars were the Porche 911 Turbo, the Evo 8 & STI 7. However the sun came out on Sunday and the AC Cobra, Westfield Megabusa & TVR Tamora didn't stop!

The track itself was fun, fairly short but with several interesting corners. However there's not much run off and many large trees so all the drivers were taking it steady.

Apart from the annual tarmac rally they rarely let cars use the track, so it was a honour to be allowed to use it. There are some old photos:

www.iainsnicolson.btinternet.co.uk/html/ingliston.html

Overall a great day but then I did get to drive and passenger in some classic cars!

You only get what you put into these events, and I can honestly say that I have had a marvelous weekend. Nice show on the Saturday afternoon, with plenty of interest in the Skylines....
AND
It was a real pleasure to help out on Sunday afternoon with the charity passenger laps, and both the GTROC supplied cars were having the time of their life lapping the circuit and making many a childhood dream come true.......

Maxy_UK...was that you with the blue R34 ?

Dougster....Did you like my personal valet team ?

Did the scratches come out Jason? Didn't hang about as we headed up to Cowdenbeath for the stock cars. Now THAT was fun.

More advertising and more car clubs would have helped IMHO.

Total lack of atmosphere within the main display area. You could practically hear some of the 'classics' rusting!!

Pity as there were some other VERY nice and interesting cars on show.
