My mate is about to install a 6 x CD changer in the boot of his 98 UK Turbo. Does anyone know if Subaru have wiring in the boot for this, or whether new wires will have to be run?
I thought that the 6CD changer being an optional extra, the wiring might have been included as standard?

I had these fitted by dealers at time of purchase to an MY98 & an RB5. I chose to have them installed under the passenger seat.

To answer your query - I'm pretty sure that the wiring is part of the install and is supplied with the CD changer as part of the kit.

I bought my MY97 Sport second hand ( 1 year old ).
Think it was original head unit and cd changer, recently moved it under rear parcel shelf so moved wiring.

It was a single cable that fed from the head unit along the passenger side of the car ( in the wire runs underneath the plastic strips at the base of the doors, then up next to the top of the rear shock and into the boot.)

Cool

Yep, my wagon also has the wires run, even though there is no changer fitted. I ended up running extra wires anyway, as I wanted a SONY changer, but if you're going for the OEM kit you should be good to go !
