Check Engine Warning Light on my 22b
#1
Hoping for some advice as to what to do.....
My check engine light has been coming on in my 22b under normal driving. It came on 5 mins from my house last night, stopped the car, started the car again, no light on, started to drive again (just cruising 50 - 60mph) check engine light came on again.
Car is standard other than H & S downpipe, HKS exhaust.
Any advice what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Probably one of the sensors on the blink. If it's the same as the P1 locate the 2 black plugs under the dash (steering wheel side), with the engine completely off plug them together. Turn key so the engine lights come on and watch the check engine light. long flashes are 10's quick flashes are 1's. You'll put them together to make a code so 3 long, 2 quick is 32. Switch off, unplug cables and come back here and do a search for code or ask again.

Forgot to say that you'll find a pair of green connectors under there as well. If you plug the green and black ones together you'll do an ECU reset, just the black on their own does the Error code.

Keith,
Mickle's response (which seems very logical) aside, you might think about posting this in General Technical - no offence to the technical expertise of the regulars in here.
I take it you've seen the 22b BBS.
Cheers,
N

Just to expand on Mickles post.
To do the reset correctly the car should be upto running temperature before you connect the plugs and the car has to be driven above 11kph for 1 minute minimum.
After which the all clear will be signalled by regular 1/2 second flashes of the chk eng light. If a flash code other than that is indicated then there is a problem
Oh and if u connect the greens on their own the car runs a system check (you will hear it switching on and off various relays etc in a cyclic manner untill you switch off the ignition)
